Reviews for The Trouble with Memories
But none of that compares to Eva’s martians, AI’s, and strapping space pilots. Lucy is strong, independent, and damned if she’s going to let the military take away her guy. It all seems simple enough at first. He chose career over love, right?
But when we find out what really happened…Hello, hold onto your pants (cuz Cal sure doesn’t… and wow does it get hot . Factor in a martian enslaved in a way you’d never imagine, and an AI who’s more sexy than Skynet, and you’ve got one hell of a hot ride.
I can’t wait to see what Eva comes up with in Book 2…
Additionally, thanks to the teaser at the end of the book, I now must purchase “Sweet Cravings.” Eva, what have you done to me?!!
Captain Sykes can control ships with his mind thanks to his new implant. No longer fully human he struggles to break free from the grips of a mad scientist. When his memories come flooding back to him he realizes he needs Lucy by his side again, but will clearing his name and bringing the scientist to justice cost them their relationship?
I was excited to see this is the start of a series. I can’t wait for book 2!
The windows flexed and the floor rumbled as the jets did another close fly-by. He ignored them in favor of intently ogling the rounded globes of Lucy’s ass. When she spun to face him, he nearly lost his balance.
Three steps later, she was in his face. He braced himself for her wrath.
Her fingers curled around his collar nice and tight. When she gave him a light shake, his head whipped back and forth. Maybe she was trying to rattle some sense back into his malfunctioning brain. “Comet tails, Cal. If this is some game you’re playing to make me miss you, I swear I’ll fill your ass with helium and shoot you out one of those planes!”
He loved how the fire in her eyes matched her hair and the way she jutted out her chin at the end of her pronouncement. But he’d told her the truth. This was no game. His memories of her were completely gone. “How can I prove to you I’m not lying?”
Her lips curled up in a smirk. “Kiss me.”
With a confident toss of her head she laid claim to him, answering his questions about how he’d known her. Hell, he hadn’t known her, apparently he’d known her. The news made his dick swell with pride. His mouth quirked into a cocky smile.
“Come on, Cal. Today’s Valentine’s Day after all.” Her hands caressed his neck, working their way up his jaw. “One little goodbye kiss won’t hurt.”
Her touch confused him. Familiar yet foreign. New sensations and ghostly memories rose toward the surface of his mind but were squashed before they reached the light. He shook his head but the cobwebs didn’t clear. Why couldn’t he remember? Everything but those fragging ships seemed vague.
A twinge in his right shoulder shot up his neck, and he couldn’t help thinking the pain was a warning. He braced for more, but none immediately came. He wanted out of this box, wanted answers. But he wouldn’t endanger anyone else to get them.
“Lucy.” His voice sounded hoarse, as if he’d sucked sand into his windpipe. “Don’t.” Down below, his cock begged, yes, yes, yes.

Interview with Holly Hewson
HH: Eva, thank you for talking with us at The Romance Studio. Your featured book is The Trouble with Memories. Where did you get the idea for this sizzling romance?
EL: It’s hard to say. I started this story a long time ago and can’t quite remember. But it’s likely that my ongoing fascination with Star Trek and science fiction in general played a huge part.
HH: What do you like best about Lucy and why will readers like her?
EL: Lucy is a spitfire of a girl and not afraid to say what’s on her mind. She’s got the pluck many of us would like to have but don’t sometimes.
HH: What do you like best about Captain Sykes and why will readers love him?
EL: Cal is a focused man. Before he lost his memories, he was focused on Lucy, then on his career. When his memories come crashing back, his focus shifts to Lucy. He’s unshakable in his determination to get her back.
HH: What makes this work different from your other stories?
EL: There’s a bit of humor in it. Take the swear words for example. It’s not every day you hear someone say, “Helium toads!” or “Fragging comets!” There’s a bit of tongue in cheek even as the characters struggle against seemingly insurmountable odds.
HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?
EL: I have a new release on March 4th that’s called Download my Love, which answers the question: is it possible to love a robot who’s been programmed to love you? On March 18th, I have a new MM release with co-author Shiloh Saddler called Perfect Ride. It’s about bull rider on the PBR circuit who falls for a cowboy who gets shot by a rodeo clown!
HH: What do you enjoy most about being an author?
EL: Mixing it up. I pretty much switch from genre to genre, from heavy to light. This weekend I wrote a contemporary BBW short piece for Secret Cravings Publishing’s Weekend Getaway line. Right after that, I started two new MM erotic stories. What next? Well, I have cowboys II and Martians II to submit, so I’m not running out of works in progress any time soon.
HH: What experience or experiences in your writing career have defined you to this point?
EL: Working hard and trying new things. I don’t think I’ve settled into a genre yet. Maybe someday. Maybe I never will.
HH: What goals have you set for yourself at this point in your career?
Produce more works, try new things, and don’t give up.
HH: What do you enjoy reading?
EL: You had to ask! You should have asked what don’t I read. Seriously. I like Urban Fantasy, MM romance, hot Historicals, Paranormal, Contemporary, and everything in between.
HH: Where can readers find you online?
EL: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Eva-Lefoy/344907072265234
