Ju Ephraime finds passion on the lush island of Martinique in this steamy romance. Twenty-six year-old Daphne Cohen’s life is closed off, hiding behind an introverted personality to keep from expressing her true self and exploring the depths of what she truly desires. With very few friends and having only slept with three men in her life, she believes man number three is the one…until she finds out he’s been sleeping around.

Fleeing to Martinique to do some soul searching about her past, she meets her future: Wolfe LaCasse, a devastatingly handsome and sensuous Creole. He takes her on a passionate journey whose fire burns too hot for Daphne and she flees the island before getting burned. The problem is, she can’t forget the state of ecstasy she experienced in his arms. Can she risk everything and, for the first time in her life, follow her heart and return to the island?

Spinning a fresh twist on the romance genre, Ju Ephraime’s Daphne is in the driver’s seat and in full control to make the decisions that will change her forever. Daphne’s developed sexuality and power bridge a gap between the classic and the contemporary with subtle nuances, sparkling insights, and a provocative, sensuous narrative style.

Interview with Holly Hewson

HH:   Ju, thank you so much for talking with us at TRS. Your featured book is State of Ecstasy. Where did you get the idea for this original tale?

JE: Thank you for having me.  State of Ecstasy was my first romance novel.  Before penning the story, I had the entire thing set-up in my head. Some of my story has a little bit of my lived experience coupled with my over-active imagination.

HH:  What do you like best about Daphne and what will readers like about her?

JE: I like Daphne’s adventurous spirit. She’s willing to try anything, at least once. She also had an easy-going, pleasant, personality, which I thing makes her character very likeable; hence relatable.

HH:  What do you like best about Wolfe and why will readers love him?

JE: I like Wolfe’s personality. He’s a man of few words. He knows what he wants and he goes after it. I’ve found strong alpha males do not waste time on useless dialogue, particularly, when they are being intimate.

HH: What makes this work different than anything you’ve written so far?

JE: Well, State of Ecstasy is different because there was none before it, so there was no need for the characters to compete. Now, since this is a series, the other characters, especially, the males, have some big shoes to fill following Wolfe.

HH: What else do you have in store for lucky readers?

JE: I’m working on the fourth installment in this series, only this time it will be a female in the driver’s seat. She is the last of the unmarried LaCasse, and the only female protagonist in the series; therefore, she’ll have to be able to hold her own against her strong alpha brothers.

HH: What inspires you in your writing?

JE: I’m inspired by beautiful music. I find my taste runs to classic rock.

HH:   What can you tell us about your special, non-profit endeavor?

JE: If you are talking about Professional Wardrobe Inc., it’s an agency I started fourteen years ago, to assist displaced workers in their job search efforts.  PWI is the only agency of its kind that dresses men and women. We try to give everyone who is referred to us, three outfits. We try to give the entire ensemble, and it’s very seldom we are not able to do so.

HH: What are you reading?

JE: I’m currently reading two books, Christine Feehan’s Dark Lycan and Karen Hawkins’, How to Entice an Enchantress.

HH:  What goals have you set for yourself this year?

JE: My usual; write as many books as I possibly can. I know for certain I have to complete four, if I achieve that then, I’ve done my bit.

HH:   Where can readers find you online?

JE: I can be found online at: http://www.juliaeantoine.com , on my blog at, http://www.juephraime.blogspot.com , on my FaceBook page at, https://www.facebook.com/juephraimeauthor, on  https://plus.google.com/+JEAntoine/posts?partnerid=gplp0, or follow me on twitter at @juephraime.  Please come by and stop a while, I enjoy meeting new people.
